Service Based Company Versus Product Based Company
Service-based company
A service-based company primarily
focuses on delivering services to its clients. In this context,
"services" means providing support or work for other companies. These
services are designed specifically to each client’s needs, focusing on
improving the delivery of the services.
Examples: Accenture, Infosys, and
others.
Product-based company
A product-based company, on the
other hand, creates and sells tangible products, which can include physical
goods or software. These companies concentrate on developing, manufacturing,
and marketing products that are sold directly to consumers or businesses. They
prioritize innovation, product design, and market differentiation. Unlike
services, products are designed for the general market rather than for
individual customers, with a focus on creating new or improved offerings.
Examples: Apple (technology),
Microsoft (software), Toyota (automobiles).
Simply, Service-based companies
concentrate on providing services to other businesses, while product-based
companies focus on developing their own products.
